Chef Louis

Harrison absolutely killed it last night playing Chef Louis in The Anthony School’s production of “The Little Mermaid.” Katherine and I were so proud. The curtain opened on Harrison sporting a white chef’s hat, apron, and fake mustache. He slammed a rubber mallet onto a table before launching into his song, delivered in a faux French accent. He was electric on stage, pounding the table with his “clever” and prancing around his prep station. It was incredibly funny. He really hammed it up. And he was so confident in the role it was nothing but a pleasure to watch.
This has got to be one of my top moments as a parent. Seeing your child do something really well and also seeing your child enjoying what he (or she) is doing is one of the great gifts of parenting. I was flooded with pride. Harrison is so talented and funny. He was a complete natural on stage. It was such fun seeing him bring this character to life. Especially since he didn’t hold anything back. Harrison’s body language was perfect. He literally threw himself into the part, stomping around the stage and leaping after Sebastian, the crab. It was such a raucous scene. We absolutely loved it. I was in tears, both laughing as an audience member and crying tears of joy as a father.
