Joe either loves or hates the Ink Spots. I can’t remember which. He definitely has a thing about one of their songs. 

One night we listened to this album together.  Joe, Catherine, Katherine, and I. Joe told us the story about his finger. He cut it off at the knuckle. It was a work-related accident.  After the telling, he tossed his prosthetic half-digit into Katherine’s lap. Katherine kept saying, “Is this a joke?”
