Let It Ride
Ted King cut from Tour de France due to TTT finish time.
I don’t know if Ted King likes Dinosaur Jr. I like Dinosaur Jr. And when I saw the #lettedride tag this morning this song jumped into my head. I must have some sort of hashtag synesthesia where trending topics in my feed turn into earworms. I fear this might be an early form of entitilitus. But enough about me.
After watching 200 on 100 video, who could not like Ted King. Witty and relaxed on camera, the guy exudes a smart aleck cool that’s affable on screen. Like I said, I don’t know him. He prolly listens to Phish and treats his soigneur like a gimp. But I get a Timothy McSweeney vibe off of him. He seems to have that kind of style. Which means if Ted were a font instead of a pro cycist, he’d be Garamond Pro. (Wait a sec… I think this is the early-onset entitilitis talking again.)
But seriously, we need more American cyclists with a Ted King demeanor on the scene. It’s a shame 7 seconds just took him out of the Tour. But he’s taken the bad news with the appropriate dignity. Which is what we would expect from Ted King. As we expect more great thing to come from him in his career.
