I’m feeling gimpy lately. My back is farged. Toting a toddler around the house on my left hip has effed me up. But I am also afraid I haven’t been stretching for long enough after rides and workouts. More to the point, I am getting old. Thankfully I am not completely laid up. I can still get around. Like a gimp.

What to do? Not carry the baby? Get more rest? It’s hard to stay off the bike when the weather is unabashedly gorgeous. The cool mornings gradually release the heat and pulse of the day. Even at noon, the light is mellow and the minutes seemingly float through the haze of a constantly renewable golden hour. The air is fresh and less oppressive than humid August’s o2. If April is the cruelest month, October is the most merciful. It sucks to be sore when riding conditions feel so inspiring. My legs wanna sing but my lower back is moaning.
